Find out how to get started as a blogger

I'm teaching a class at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, Wash., from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday September 26.

Blogging is a rewarding way to reach people. If you live in the area, come and join us.

Among the topics my students have chosen for blog topic include fsood, fashions, public relations, personal challenges, the paranormal, knitting, boating, travel, books, aging, and the public interest.

My blogs are The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide and the Boomer Consumer, a reader blog on the Seattle Post-Intelligencer website.

I began blogging in 2008. Since then I've written more than 5,000 articles and have more than 1 million page views.

Blogging is interesting and rewarding. It's like having your own newspaper.

My background includes 10 years as a journalist and nearly 20 years as a writer and editor for state government.
